WTUL 91.5 FM and Uncle Chris Present:

What is the criteria for submitting music?

The first criteria for music submissions is that it has to be kid friendly. What is kid friendly? Music that children, any children, would enjoy. How about we take out the Barney and Wiggles for a moment here. These are examples of music you can find anywhere (though mainstream music is welcome as well). What I look for is music my audience won't hear every day or would not in many instances ever have the chance to hear. Much of what I play is regional music, and though an area like the Northeast may have some incredible artists the chances of hearing them down here in the South are minimal.

My second and most important criteria is the music has to be something both kids and their parents can enjoy. Keep in mind that what I think does or does not work may not be the same as your thoughts. With this in mind I have an open submissions policy. I welcome any music that could fit my format. and I honestly do listen to each and every CD sent in to WTUL. I can't promise that everything will make it on the air, but I do make every effort to do so.
